My &#8220;office&#8221; is 5 miles, door-to-door. As such, I get 10 miles of biking round-trip. My bicycle odometer\u00a0 currently reads 685 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Over those miles, I have\u00a0experienced many things.\u00a0Birdwatching top the list. From singing warblers to a roosting\u00a0vultures, I&#8217;ve seen all kinds of birds. Also, five years ago, with my biking &amp; birding (from April to October), I lost over 40lbs of flab. And\u00a0every time I hop on the seat,\u00a0&#8220;childhood excitement&#8221; kicks in&#8230; I suppose\u00a0bicycling really is dear to me.<\/p>\n<p>So here we are in March&#8230; the landscape is still dull from winter. The grass is not green yet, but baby leaves are starting to bud. Ahhh!
